VÖ: SEPTEMBER 30, 2011
UNIVERSAL MUSIC - DECCA - DEAG MUSIC - WARNER MUSIC GROUP
After the sensational success of his platinum albums "Virtuoso" & "Classic Romance", the double platinum album "Encore", numerous sold-out tours and the success of the triple gold DVD "David Garrett Live - In Concert & In Private", the second DVD of star violinist David Garrett will be released by DEAG Music on September 30, 2011. The double DVD & Blu-Ray "David Garrett - Rock Symphonies/Opoen Air Live" is filled with a total of over 3 hours of material and accompanies the violin virtuoso at his sold-out open-air concert in Berlin's Wuhlheide on June 8, 2010.
Over 15,000 fans experienced a concert of superlatives. Accompanied by the orchestra "Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt" and his live band, David Garrett played rock anthems like "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica, Toto's "Child's Anthem" and film music arrangements like "Mission Impossible". With interpretations of famous classics such as Antonio Vivaldi's "Four Seasons", Frank Schubert's "Serenade" or the "Flight of the Bumblebee" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakoff, the smart exceptional violinist once again spans the gap between classical music, rock and pop.
In addition to the complete open-air concert from Berlin's Kindl-Bühne Wuhlheide, the DVD contains previously unreleased bonus material of the star violinist. Experience the "greatest violinist of his generation" (Isaac Stern) up close for the first time during the 48-hour countdown to the show and gain a behind-the-scenes look at his spectacular performance. The one-hour bonus material also includes an exclusive face-to-face interview of the violin virtuoso with Johannes B. Kerner.
